The present invention relates to a mobile terminal, a display device, and a method for controlling same, which consider the convenience of a user and enable data communication therebetween when the mobile terminal and the display device are connected to each other. When the mobile terminal and the display device are connected to each other and a monitor window related to a display of the mobile terminal is displayed on the display device, at least one embodiment of the present invention changes the orientation of a housing of the mobile terminal according to the need of the terminal user, thereby enabling easy change of the orientation of the monitor window.
