<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a state capable of performing optical communication in a short time from a start of an optical output by performing an optical output monitoring check at the start of an optical output. <P>SOLUTION: An optical transmitter 1 includes an LD4, an LDD3, an optical power detection section 5, and a microcomputer 2. The microcomputer 2 determines a predetermined driving current value D [mA] (D=(C/B)+A) enabling the LD4 to perform optical communication based on a maximum value A [mA] of a threshold current of the LD4, a maximum value B [mW/mA] of slope efficiency and a maximum optical output value C [mW] of the optical transmitter 1. The LDD3 supplies the predetermined driving current to the LD4 according to an instruction from the microcomputer 2 at a start of an optical output of the optical transmitter 1. The optical power detection section 5 detects an optical output of the LD4 to which the predetermined driving current is supplied. When the optical output of the LD4 is larger than the predetermined value, the microcomputer 2 performs APC control for the LD4 with the predetermined driving current value D as an initial value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
