<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degeneration on a surface of an image carrier generated due to attachment of fixing liquid from a fixing liquid application mechanism to the image carrier in an image forming apparatus of an electrophotographic method using the fixing liquid for fixing a toner image to a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes at least: the image carrier; a toner developing mechanism; a toner transfer mechanism; and the fixing liquid application mechanism for applying the fixing liquid which softens toner by having at least a part of resin in the toner dissolved or swollen, to the toner transferred on the recording medium or to the recording medium before the toner is transferred. The image carrier includes at least a photosensitive layer on a conductive supporting body and the upper most layer of the image carrier is a layer including a cross-linkage resin composition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
