<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique by which a highly reliable display device with high image quality can be manufactured at low cost and with high yield. <P>SOLUTION: Spacer is provided on a pixel electrode layer in a pixel region and on an insulation layer serving as a partition wall covering the periphery of the pixel electrode layer. When a light emission material is formed on the pixel electrode layer, this spacer supports a mask for selective formation and prevents the light emission material from being in contact with the pixel electrode layer due to twist or deflection of the mask. Thus, damage on the pixel electrode layer such as scratch by the mask does not occur and the shape defect of the pixel electrode layer does not occur; therefore, a highly reliable display device performing highly fine display can be manufactured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
