PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a fine control free from influences by motor slip or power factor variation.
SOLUTION: The invention relates to a feed control of disc cutters. A power P of a blade rotary motor is measured to obtain a rotation speed f of a blade. It is determined if the blade is rotating or not, and when it is determined the blade is rotating, a calculation is made according to a formula torque T=P/(2×π×f)N×m. It is determined if a cutting operation is in progress or not, and when it is determined the cutting operation is in progress, a feed rate PID control is made and a signal is sent to a blade feed motor so as to keep the torque constant. It is determined if an overload is applied to the blade rotary motor or not, when overload is not applied to the motor, the feed rate PID control is made and it is determined if the cutting operation is completed or not. When it is determined the cutting operation is completed, the blade is caused to move in a cutting start position. When the cutting operation is not completed, the process returns to any of the steps after the PID control. When it is determined an overload is applied, the feed rate is reduced and it is determined if the torque is normalized or not in a standard period of time. When the torque is normalized, the feed rate PID control is carried out. When the torque is not normalized, the blade is made to retreat toward the cutting start position.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
