METHOD FOR PRODUCING FERRONICKEL SMELTING RAW MATERIAL FROM LOW GRADE LATERITIC NICKEL ORE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing ferronickel from a nickel sulfide material produced by a wet refining of a lateritic nickel ore, a scrap or a work-in-method material, or from a mixed sulfide material containing nickel and cobalt.

SOLUTION: The method for producing a ferronickel raw material is used for producing the ferronickel raw material from a nickel sulfide material or a mixed sulfide material containing a nickel sulfide material and a cobalt sulfide material, and is characterized by carrying out a treatment through the following steps: (1) a re-dissolution step; (2) an iron removal step; (3) a solvent extraction step; (4) a hydroxylation step; (5) a roasting step; and (6) a washing and fritting step.
