<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a frequency from unintentionally being deviated from a frequency band when the frequency is operated to be changed in the frequency band whose width of a prescribed degree is designated in radio communication equipment of a wide band. <P>SOLUTION: In a frequency change control method in the radio communication equipment, a setting range upper limit frequency and a setting range lower limit frequency are previously set within an operable frequency range and a plurality of setting frequency ranges are set. When instruction means is operated by a user and execution of the limit of the frequency change range is instructed, it is identified whether a present operation frequency is in one of the setting frequency ranges or not. When it is included in one of the setting frequency ranges, the setting frequency range is specified. The change range of the operation frequency is limited to be within the specified setting frequency range.
