<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents paper jam on a conveyance belt, and contamination of the surface of a conveyance belt or subsequent paper, as well as damage to an ink ejection nozzle. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 1 includes: a conveyance belt 21 of paper P; suction holes 21a provided in the conveyance belt 21 in order to suck the paper P; a recording head 31 which ejects ink onto the sheet; paper detection sensors 40 arranged at an upstream side position and a downstream side position of the recording head 31 to face the opposite side of the paper conveyance surface of the conveyance belt 21, and at a position facing the recording head 31 in order to detect the paper P through the suction holes 21a; a clock unit 19; and a control unit 15 which identifies abnormal paper conveyance by comparing actual conveyance time of the paper P, calculated using the paper detection sensors 40 and the clock unit 19, with preset target conveyance time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
