<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric rice cooker which enhances high selective rice cooking effect by exploiting respective characteristics of normal cooked rice, hard cooked rice and softer cooked rice in accordance with selective rice cooking menus of normal cooked rice, hard cooked rice and softer cooked rice. <P>SOLUTION: The electric rice cooker includes: a pot for containing rice to be cooked; a heating unit for heating the rice to be cooked in the pot; a controller for performing a series of rice cooking processes including a water absorbing process I, a start-up heating process II, and a boiling maintaining process III; and a selective rice cooking menu selection unit for selecting selective rice cooking menu of hard, normal or softer. The controller is provided with a storage unit for defining start-up heating power and boiling maintaining power in advance and storing them. In the start-up heating process II, the controller performs a start-up process with the start-up heating power corresponding to the selective rice cooking menu stored in the storage unit in accordance with the selective rice cooking menu selected by selective rice cooking menu selection unit. The controller then shifts to the boiling maintaining process after the start-up heating process is over, and performs the boiling maintaining process by boiling maintaining heating power corresponding to the selective rice cooking menu stored in the storage unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
