PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystal oscillator in which impact resistance is enhanced and economical efficiency is enhanced. SOLUTION: Opposite end faces at the outer circumferential part, having a lead electrode extended from an exciting electrode of a crystal piece formed by AT cut or SC cut and having the major face facing a metal base, is connected electrically and mechanically with a first supporter provided on the lead terminal of the metal base through conductive adhesive in the crystal oscillator. The supporter is constituted to be planar is shape and has a slit for exposing the end face at the outer circumferential part of the crystal piece, around which a conductive adhesive is applied from the outer surface side of the supporter and the outer circumferential parts at the opposite ends of the crystal piece are connected electrically and mechanically with the support. End faces, other than that at the outer circumferential part having the extended lead electrode is connected with a second support by adhesive.
