<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element capable of enhancing durability while achieving high photoelectric conversion efficiency, and to provide a photoelectrochemical battery using the same, and dye used for those. <P>SOLUTION: Provided is a photoelectric conversion element having a photoreceptor layer containing organic sensitizing dye and semiconductor fine particles. A dye having an adsorption equilibrium constant to titanium oxide in a solvent of 300 g/L or more and 10,000 g/L or less is applied as the organic sensitizing dye.
