<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a micro hole array including exact micro holes by a simple method, and to provide an optical module capable of performing optical connection with high reliability without performing an aligning work between the micro holes and optical devices and a method for manufacturing the optical module. <P>SOLUTION: An optical module 1 performing optical transmission between an end portion of a multi-core optical fiber 2 constituted of N number of optical fibers 20 and a plurality of optical devices 11 such as VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) and PD (Photo Diode) includes an optical device module 12 with the plurality of optical devices 11 mounted thereon, a micro hole array 14 with a plurality of micro holes 13 punched therethrough and the optical fibers 20 having end portions inserted into the micro holes 13. Just insertion of the N optical fibers 20 into the micro holes 13 allows the optical fibers 20 to be positioned concentrically with the optical devices 11 of the optical device module 12 without adjustment of the optical fiber 20, thereby performing the efficient optical transmission. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
