<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for measuring natural frequency of a workpiece system and shape accuracy of a workpiece in a short period of time on a grinding machine. <P>SOLUTION: A grinding fluid is supplied from a grinding fluid nozzle 12 to bring the workpiece W close to a rotating grinding wheel 7, thereby generating dynamic pressure. The dynamic pressure varies depending on a fluctuation of a gap between the grinding wheel 7 and the workpiece W, and is transmitted to a driving motor of a wheel spindle stock feeder 8 through the grinding wheel 7 and a wheel spindle stock 3. Driving current flows to the driving motor to generate resistance force against applied force. A value of the current is converted into the dynamic pressure, and predetermined calculation is performed on the basis if a relationship between the dynamic pressure and the gap, thereby measuring a fluctuation in surface position of the workpiece. By measuring a cycle of the fluctuation in surface position of the workpiece, the natural frequency of a workpiece supporting system and an outer diameter shape of the workpiece W are measured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
