The embodiments of the present invention relate to a car audio system and a control method therefor, wherein the preset information is updated according to the information transmitted from a mobile communication terminal which is linked with a car audio device. To this end, a control method for a car audio system according to the present invention comprises the steps of: generating an information request message; transmitting the generated information request message to a linked arbitrary terminal; receiving information which is transmitted from the arbitrary terminal in response to the information request message; and updating the preset information according to the received information.
