<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black ink composition and an ink set, which have good black tone and excellent viscosity stability if stored for a long period; and to provide an image recording method which is excellent in image quality, is excellent in discharge stability if stored for a long period and in discharge stability during operation after the long-time suspension, and is excellent in scratch resistance and especially in offset resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The black ink composition comprises: an aqueous medium; at least one self-dispersing color pigment selected from a self-dispersing carbon black, a self-dispersing phthalocyanine pigment, a self-dispersing quinacridone pigment, and a self-dispersing azo pigment; and self-dispersing polymer particles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
