PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of bits in whole character strings used in a sentence and the like and to compress capacity of data used as a whole.

SOLUTION: A character string data compression device for compressing character string data including a character code string includes: a character code compression processing portion converting a prescribed character code into a character bit string being a bit string corresponding to a difference obtained by subtracting a numeric value displayed by a character code being a reference from a numeric value displayed by the prescribed character code; a separation information generation processing portion generating a separation bit string for recognizing separation of an adjacent character bit string; and an information bonding processing portion bonding alignment of the character bit string and that of the separation bit string.
