<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus which highly accurately measures the position and size of an absorber by detecting photoacoustic signals generated from the boundary of the absorber deep in the living tissue with high contrast signals. <P>SOLUTION: The measuring apparatus includes: a first plate 25 and a second plate 26 for holding a subject E from both sides of the plates; a first illumination optical means 205 which is disposed on a side opposite to the subject on the first plate, and guides a pulse beam generated from the light source to the subject; a second illumination optical means 301 which is disposed opposite to the subject on the second plate, and guides the pulse beam generated from the light source to the subject from the position inserted in the subject opposite to the first illumination optical means; a detecting means 403 which is disposed opposite to the subject on the first plate, and detects an elastic wave S generated from the pulse beam emitted to the subject to convert electric signals; and a signal analysis apparatus 500 for generating images using the electric signals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
