<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a water-absorbent foam molding, capable of improving the water absorption rate of a water-absorbent foam molding manufactured compared to that of a conventional water-absorbent foam molding. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a water-absorbent foam molding includes: a water absorbing hole forming step of forming a plurality of water intake holes in a film laminated foam sheet including a resin film laminated on a surface of a resin foam sheet having an interconnecting cell layer so as to extend from the resin film side to the interconnecting cell layer through the resin film; a secondary foaming step of secondarily foaming the film laminated foam sheet having the water intake holes formed therein; and a thermoforming step of thermoforming the film laminated foam sheet after the secondary foaming step. In the secondary foaming step, tension is generated in the resin film in a direction of extending the openings of the water intake holes, whereby a water-absorbent foam molding having water intake holes opened larger than before the secondary foaming step is produced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
