<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new lithium manganese complex oxide which is excellent in cycle characteristics and preservability at high temperature and has high discharge capacity per volume, when used as the positive electrode active material of a lithium ion battery, and to provide a lithium ion secondary battery using a new lithium manganese complex oxide of this kind as a positive electrode active material. <P>SOLUTION: The spinel type lithium manganese composite oxide is obtained by preparing an aqueous suspension by mixing (i) a lithium compound, (ii) an electrolytic manganese dioxide, (iii) a compound of at least one metal (M1) selected from Mg and Al, and (iv) a compound of boron (M2) with an atom number ratio of Li:Mn:M1:M2:F being (x+y):(2-y-p-q):p:q (here 1.0≤x<1.2, 0<y≤0.2, 1.0<(x+y)≤1.2, 0<p≤1.0, 0.0005≤q≤0.1), drying the aqueous suspension, and subsequently calcining the dried aqueous suspension at a temperature of 650-900°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
