<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method which can avoid interruptions to operation caused in association with checking operation of safety of a cableway system. <P>SOLUTION: A chair 3 is coupled to a conveying cable 2, uncoupled at an entrance into a station, guided along a guide rail 40 by a control tire 4 and coupled again to the conveying cable 2 at an exit. After a passenger has boarded the chair 3, a safety bar 31 is immediately adjusted to a closed position by a first adjusting device 5 and locked to prevent the passenger from sliding off the chair 3. In the downstream of the first adjusting device 5, a second adjusting device 6 including a sensor 60 for checking the locking of the safety bar 31 is provided at the exit from the station. When the safety bar 31 is not locked, the second adjusting device 6 turns the safety bar 31 to a locked state of the closed position.
