<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrial method for manufacturing 5-bromo-2-(1-substitution ethyl) benzoic acid ester which can be easily operated, has high yield and has less impurity. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method reacting a brominating agent with 2-(1-substitution ethyl) benzoic acid ester in the presence of a Lewis acid is useful as the industrial method for manufacturing the 5-bromo-2-(1-substitution ethyl) benzoic acid ester. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
