<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel electrophoretic display and a material useful for manufacturing the display. <P>SOLUTION: In particular, a novel encapsulated display is disclosed. Particles encapsulated in the display are dispersed in a suspending or electrophoretic fluid. The fluid may be a mixture of two or more fluids, or a single fluid. The display may further include particles containing a liquid, the particles dispersed in a suspending fluid. In either case, the suspending fluid may have a density or a refractive index substantially matched to the density or the refractive index of the particles dispersed in the suspending fluid. Finally, an electro-osmotic display is also disclosed. These displays comprise at least one kind of capsule containing either a cellulosic internal phase or a gel-like internal phase and a liquid phase, or containing two or more immiscible fluids. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
