<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distribute contents corresponding to the reproduction capability of a terminal while evading the congestion of a network. <P>SOLUTION: A distribution system includes: a plurality of transcoders which are each connected to at least one of a plurality of packet transfer devices for transferring packets received from a distribution server, and tentatively hold contents; and a distribution controller which stores a content map indicating the contents held by each of the plurality of transcoders, and when receiving a request of the contents from a terminal, extracts the transcoder closest to the terminal from the plurality of transcoders on the basis of the in-zone information of the terminal, and instructs the extracted transcoder to transmit the contents requested from the terminal. The extracted transcoder identifies the capability of the terminal on the basis of information included in the request, converts the contents requested from the terminal corresponding to the capability, and transmits them to the terminal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
