<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an organic EL element, by which even in the case of a light output side electrode composed of a transparent electrode having a high resistance value, an auxiliary electrode can be readily formed on the transparent electrode with stability. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing an organic EL element 10 comprises the steps of: forming a first electrode 2 on a substrate 1; forming a dielectric layer 3 in a given pattern for defining a region B in which electric charge is supplied from the first electrode 2 to an organic EL layer 6(6R,6G,6B); forming, on the dielectric layer 3, a partition wall 4 having an inverted taper portion 5 on each or one of opposing wall surfaces thereof; forming an organic EL layer 6 on the first electrode 2; forming a layer of a second electrode material over the whole surface from above the organic EL layer 6 by dry deposition, and forming a transparent second electrode 7 for each pixel region; and forming an auxiliary electrode 8 in a region D composed of a region C on the partition wall 4, and an overlapping region (A1 and/or A2) of the second electrode 7 where the dielectric layer 3 provided on both sides or one side of the partition wall 4 in plan view overlaps with the second electrode 7 in plan view. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
