The method involves generating a threshold value curve from nodes, where the nodes are defined by a temporal position and an amplitude value that is determined based on a course of a spurious signal pattern that is faded out. The temporal position is provided as a function of the course of the spurious signal pattern, where the spurious signal pattern is created based on recognized spurious signals produced by type-conditional interference sources of a vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for evaluation of signals of an ultrasonic sensor.
