<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plugging method allowing easy adjustment of a residual air amount without mixing of foreign matter into a liquid medicine in a plugging process, and to provide a gasket used for the plugging method and a prefilled syringe using the gasket. <P>SOLUTION: In this gasket, a plugging device 18 is installed to a gasket body 27, and the gasket body 27 is extended in a direction along the central axis of a side part 12 of the gasket body 27 by the plugging device 18. Thereby, the outside diameter of the side part 12 can be reduced as compared to a state before the gasket body 27 is extended.
