<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adapter for optical communication which has fewer number of parts and is easily manufactured. <P>SOLUTION: A shutter member 17 of an adapter 10A for optical communication includes a bottom plate, both side plates, a connection plate, and an elastically deformable shutter plate curving with a prescribed radius of curvature. In the adapter 10A, the bottom plate of the shutter member 17 is fitted to a bottom recess formed on an external surface of a bottom wall 12, while the both side plates of the shutter member 17 are fitted to both side recesses formed on external surfaces of both side walls 13. The shutter plate of the shutter member 17 is positioned at both end portions 19 and 20 of an opening of an insertion hole 15 to shield the insertion hole 15, while curving to project toward a center portion 21 of the insertion hole 15, and when a connector is inserted into the insertion hole 15, the shutter plate is pressed by the connector and falls toward the center portion 21 of the insertion hole 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
