PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly calculate a usage amount of toner used for printing an object image.

SOLUTION: An image forming device includes a thumbnail processing unit 221 for generating a thumbnail image by reducing the object image by a reduction rate β; and a transfer toner amount conversion unit 2234 for calculating, as a thumbnail toner usage amount, the toner amount expected to be used if the thumbnail image is printed. The transfer toner amount conversion unit 2234 calculates a toner usage amount used for printing the object image by using the thumbnail toner usage amount and the reduction rate β of the object image.
