<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the deterioration of feeding efficiency of sheets in slippage of a feed roller to sheets. <P>SOLUTION: The ADF (automatic document feeder) 1 includes the feed roller 11, a first roller drive motor 76, a Doppler velocimeter 80, and a document carrying control unit 70. The feed roller 11 sends documents 91 on a document placing tray 3 one by one to a document carrier path 15. The first roller drive motor 76 rotates the feed roller 11. The Doppler velocimeter 80 measures a feeding speed of the documents 91 in acceleration of the rotation of the feed roller 11. The document feed control unit 70 controls the first roller drive motor 76, when the measured speed of the documents 91 by the Doppler velocimeter 80 is below a threshold, so as to reduce the acceleration of the rotation of the feed roller 11 within a positive value range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
