<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce accurately distortions in a multiplication signal output from a magnetoresistance effect element to a transmission line. <P>SOLUTION: A mixer and a frequency converter comprise: an addition part 6 which inputs an RF signal S<SB POS="POST">RF</SB>and a local signal S2 while adding both of the signals S<SB POS="POST">RF</SB>and S2 to output as an addition signal S12; a magnetoresistance effect element 2 which has a magnetization fixed layer, a magnetization free layer and a non-magnetic spacer layer positioned between the magnetization fixed layer and the magnetization free layer and which generates a multiplication signal S4 by multiplying by magnetoresistance effect the RF signal S<SB POS="POST">RF</SB>and local signal S2 included in the addition signal S12 when the addition signal S12 is input; a magnetic field application part 3 which applies a magnetic field to the magnetization free layer; a passive first impedance conversion section 7 which inputs the multiplication signal S4 output from the magnetoresistance effect element 2 while converting it into an impedance lower than the input impedance to output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
