<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for improving "motion blur" while reducing an overshoot and a ghost. <P>SOLUTION: An input image shift direction discrimination part 300 detects a positive region and a negative region. The positive region comprises pixels each having a positive gradation value when a low-frequency component image of one-previous frame is subtracted from an interested low-frequency component image. The negative region comprises pixels each having a negative gradation value when the same processing is performed. A correction processing part 440 reduces a gradation value for a part having a gradation value larger than the gradation value in a negative region of an image of one-previous sub-frame within a negative region of the selected image. Further, the correction processing part 440 reduces a gradation value for a part having a gradation value smaller than the gradation value in a positive region of an image of one-previous sub-frame within a positive region of the selected image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
