<p>The air compressor (20) in piston-/cylindrical configuration comprises a crankcase (24), cylinders (27, 28) with the respective piston present in the air compressor, and a piston (29, 30) movable back and forth into the cylinder, which is connected with a cylinder head (31) that limits a compression space (35) formed between the piston and the cylinder in a region of top dead point of the piston. An air-conducting channel present in the cylinder head and other components movable from an air flow around the components in the cylinder head are directly provided with the catalytic coating.
