<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type video display device capable of properly displaying a video on a projection surface in cooperation with the other projection type video display device without adjusting the positional relation with respect to the other projection type video display device. <P>SOLUTION: The projection type video display device 100 includes: a detection part 320 for detecting a position of the other projection type video display device 100; and a control part 330 for switching a stacking display mode or a tiling display mode in accordance with the position of the other projection type video display device. In the stacking display mode, videos projected from a plurality of projection type video display devices 100 are displayed so as to be overlapped on the projection surface.
