<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exert functions as a gas-insulating switchgear by applying necessary minimum SF6 gas while using insulation gas such as CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>having less bad influence on the environment in order to suppress influences on global warming. <P>SOLUTION: An insulator type switchgear comprises: a porcelain tube 31 for an arc-extinguishing chamber internally having an arc-extinguishing chamber 31a formed; a supporting porcelain tube 32 provided under the porcelain tube 31 for an arc-extinguishing chamber and internally having an insulation gas chamber 32a formed; a mechanism box 34 provided under the supporting porcelain tube 32; and a partition 33 which divides the arc-extinguishing chamber 31a and the insulation gas chamber 32a airtight from each other. The porcelain tube 31 for an arc-extinguishing chamber comprises a fixed electrode 35, a movable electrode 36, an insulation nozzle 37 provided on the movable electrode 36, and arc-extinguishing gas G2 to fill the arc-extinguishing chamber 31a therewith.
