<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a timing chain from falling in a step of assembling the timing chain to a chain-case-integrated engine. <P>SOLUTION: A hook part 21 formed so as to surround the timing chain 14 is provided at an upper end of a chain damper 2, and a fall-off prevention part 22 for preventing the timing chain 14 from falling off from a crank sprocket 11 is provided at a lower end of the chain damper 2. The chain damper 2 having such a structure is used to hold two portions of the timing chain 14, and thereby the timing chain 14, even when a posture of the engine is reversed on the way of a chain-assembling step, does not fall off during the reverse. In addition, the fall-off of the timing chain 14 from the crank sprocket 11 is also prevented, and the workability of chain-assembling thus is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
