<p>A packet switching device is provided with: a receiving unit (packet receiving unit (4), receiving units (300, 301)) for receiving packets; a plurality of time monitoring units (140, 141, 600, 601, 610, 611) for monitoring the timeout for each packet being transferred and to be received by the receiving unit and for generating error notification information on the basis of the monitoring results; and a transmitting unit (packet transmitting unit (6), transmitting units (200, 201)) for receiving the error notification information from the time monitoring units and for sending the error notification information to the sender of the packets. The transmitting unit sends the error notification information by means of a packet having high priority.</p> |
