PURPOSE: A wire cable having a sensor unit and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to increase the degree of freedom in selection of deformation sensor and thereby improve the productivity of wire cables. CONSTITUTION: A wire cable(10) comprises a center strand, unit strands, and a sensor unit. The unit strands are twisted together to enclose the center strand. The sensor unit is made of a fiber bragg grating sensor and installed in mounting grooves formed on the exterior of the center strand. |
