Hand tool with anti-theft device

The method involves querying identifications of transponders (14) in an environment of a hand tool machine (1) by transmitting wireless signals by a transmitter (16) of an anti-theft device (10). The identifications of the responded transponder are received by a receiver (18). The received identifications are compared with other identifications deposited in a memory device (20). Activation of the hand tool machine is cleared by an evaluation device (19) when the deposited identifications comply with one of the received identifications. An independent claim is also included for a hand tool machine comprising an anti-theft device.
