The rear wheel steering is for a horse box vehicle, both rear wheels (b3,b4) having a stub axle (3a-3b) as rotary point and connected to the front axle by a bar assembly with bar head (2a-2e) at the ends. On the rotary point of the front axle (11) is a toothed belt disk, which has a ratio of 2:1 to a second gearwheel disk (4). They are coupled by a toothed belt (10), with tension between them maintained by a pressure roller (6). On the gearwheel disk (4) an arm is fitted (5a), which has a length of 80 per cent of the arm (5b) fitted on a further disk (7). By rotation of the construction, this arm always has a rotary angle of less than 90 degrees. This enables the vehicle to turn around the central point of the rear axle. As all vehicles are sprung, the coupling between the two disks (7,9) comprises an axle contact (8), which can vary in length and the torque is rigid. Through this construction, the vehicle can spring without obstructing the steering.
|
