PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audience survey system which realizes a television or radio audience survey in small system scale. SOLUTION: An audience signal feature amount extracting means 10 extracts a feature amount from the signal of a program (television program or radio program) that a viewer/listener actually views or listens to by means of viewing or listening terminal (television, radio or personal computer). A receiving channel switching means 102 automatically switches a broadcasting channel to receive. A broadcasting wave receiving means 103 receives the broadcasting wave of the broadcasting channel set by the receiving channel switching means 102. A receiving channel feature amount extracting means 104 extracts a feature mount from a signal received by the broadcasting wave receiving means 103 by a specific algorithm. A channel specifying means 105 compares the feature amount extracted by the audience signal feature amount extracting means 101 with the feature amount extracted by the receiving channel feature amount extracting means 104 to specify which channel the viewer has viewed or the listener has listened to.
