The guide has a fastening frame extending in a longitudinal direction. A lateral guide device (50) is displaceably mounted in the frame in the longitudinal direction. The guide device includes guide slots (47, 57) with guide rolls (45, 55) for supporting the packages. The rolls are arranged in the slots so that a rotational axis extends parallel to the longitudinal direction. An arresting device arrests the guide device at different positions in the frame. The arresting device includes snap elements and counter snap elements at defined positions in the frame.
