Automatic analysis of cell sample, comprises coloring the cell nuclei for a numerical image and analysis. The coloration is by cytochemistry, an immuno enzyme or immuno peroxidase technique with at least one antibody. The nuclei coloring is not DNA specific. The apparatus has a microscope (2) with a lens (2a), linked to a camera (3) with a link (3a) to a computer. A lamp (4) illuminates a multi-well sample carrier (1) on a support (5).
