PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a coil component for easily downsizing and obtaining a coil component excellent in its characteristic. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the coil component capable of obtaining a superior characteristic comprises the steps of forming a ground metal layer 3 on the surface of an element body 1, forming an insulating layer on at least a part of the surface of the layer 3, exposing the layer 3 again by removing a part of the insulating layer, forming a conductor 4 on the surface of the layer 3, and removing the layer 3 exposed by removing the insulating layer.
