PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable electrolytic capacitor capable of discharging gas in the electrolytic capacitor surely to the outside. SOLUTION: The electrolytic capacitor is manufactured by containing a capacitor element in a tubular bottomed enclosure case provided with a pressure valve composed of a thin part on the bottom face thereof, and then sealing the opening end of the enclosure case with an opening sealing member. A fixing plate is arranged on the outer bottom face of the enclosure case, a recess is formed on at least one of the inner surface of the fixing plate and the outer bottom face of the enclosure case, and a vent for discharging gas in the electrolytic capacitor from the recess to the side face of the enclosure case is provided on at least one of the fixing plate or the bottom face of the enclosure case.
