<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte capable of improving sufficiently the low-temperature characteristic of an electrochemical device, and to provide the electrochemical device using the electrolyte. <P>SOLUTION: The electrolyte contains an ionic liquid and a solvent, and the cation of the ionic liquid has the structure of the formula (1). Further, the electrolyte is such an electrolyte containing propylene carbonate of 0.7-8 pts.vol. when the content of ethylene carbonate is 1 pts.vol. Hereupon, each of R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>, and R<SP>4</SP>is an alkyl group having the carbon number of 1-6 or is one of the groups represented by the following formulas of (2)-(4), and some two groups of R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>4</SP>can form a ring. Further, at least one group of R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>4</SP>is one of the groups represented by the following formulas of (2)-(4). -C<SB>n</SB>H<SB>2n</SB>-O-C<SB>m</SB>H<SB>2m+1</SB>...(2), -C<SB>n</SB>H<SB>2n</SB>-O-C<SB>n</SB>H<SB>2n</SB>-O-C<SB>m</SB>H<SB>2m+1</SB>...(3), and -C<SB>n</SB>H<SB>2n</SB>-O-C<SB>m</SB>H<SB>2m</SB>-O-C<SB>p</SB>H<SB>2p+1</SB>...(4), where each of n, m, p is an integer of 1-12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
