PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball screw capable of improving mounting precision and assembly property of a connection part when performing power transmission and locking by knurls formed on a ball screw side. SOLUTION: This ball screw is provided with a screw shaft 14 forming a screw groove 14a on an outer peripheral face, a nut 15 fitted into it externally and forming a screw groove 15a on an inner peripheral face, and many balls 16 stored in a rolling passage formed by both corresponding screw grooves to perform power transmission and locking by forming a knurled part 22 on an outside diameter face of the nut 15. The knurled part 22 is formed by rolling in advance, a tip of its crest part 22a is formed into a flat face 23, and width WO of the flat face 23 is set to a scope of 5 to 15% of pitch P of the crest part 22a. After a surface of the knurled part 22 is hardened by heat treatment, the tip of the crest part 22a is formed to have predetermined outside diameter dimension D1 by grinding.
