<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sensor unit enabling an image forming apparatus main body to know information about the optical sensor unit itself or decide that the optical sensor unit attached to the apparatus main body is an exchanged one, and an image forming apparatus equipped therewith. <P>SOLUTION: A memory 313 for storing information is provided in a P sensor 310. Thus, for example, information about the P sensor 310 is stored in the memory 313. An identification member having the individual identification information of the P sensor 310 is provided in the P sensor 310. By collating the individual identification information of the P sensor 310 kept by the identification member with the individual identification information of the P sensor 310 stored in a memory in the apparatus main body, the apparatus main body obtains information that the P sensor 310 in the apparatus main body is exchanged when the individual identification information is not coincident. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
