The present invention relates to a bipolar plate (1) for sandwich-like arrangement between two membrane-electrode units (MEU) of a fuel or electrolyte cell, comprising a base structure (2) made of a first material, in which a channel structure (11,12,13) open toward the surface and having a flow field (F) is implemented on each of the front faces (9) facing away from each other, and a conductor structure integrated in the base structure (2) made of a conductive second material extending at least to the surface of both front faces (9) of the base structure (2), implementing surface electrical contact locations (19-24) and creating an electrically conductive connection permeating the base structure (2) between the contact locations (19-24) implemented on the various front faces (9). The conductor structure thereby comprises a plurality of electrically conductive elements (3-8) a terminating edge of each forming at least one contact location (19-24) on each front face (9). The contact locations (19-24) are further located on the relevant front face (9) of the bipolar plate (1) within the flow field (F) of the channel structure (11,12,13) and are disposed between the channels (11) of the channel structure (11,12,13) provided there and bounded exclusively by the material of the base structure (2). |
