PURPOSE: A content distributing storing type multimedia streaming system using node switching based on a cache segment storage amount and a method therefor are provided to switch a streaming node into a node with the biggest storage amount, thereby shortening time for collecting cache segments. CONSTITUTION: A cache server comprises the following units. A cache segment storage amount checking unit(13) checks a cache segment storage amount of nodes. The cache segment storage amount checking unit determines a node with the largest cache segment storage amount as a streaming node. An inter-node communication unit(14) obtains cache segments from other nodes. |
