L-Lysine is produced by culturing an Escherichia coli which has an L-lysine-producing ability and has been modified to increase glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase activity in a medium, preferably a medium containing glycerol as a carbon source, to produce and accumulate L-lysine in culture, and collecting L-lysine from the culture. |
